Linux Lite 3.0 Released — A Lightweight Distro For Windows Users Switching To Linux

Easy-to-use and lightweight Linux distribution Linux Lite is here with its latest version 3.0. The new Ubuntu 16.04 LTS-based release comes with a new theme, an easier access to folders, and multiple changes in the form of bug fixes and security updates.

Linux Lite is a lightweight Linux distribution that is focused on the beginners who want to learn Linux easily. This Ubuntu-based Linux distribution is known for making things easier for Windows users who want to make a shift to the world of Linux.
The operating system’s menu gives a feel of Windows XP. Its XFCE desktop environment, pre-installed tools, and a graphical tool to install software make things easier for beginners.
The latest version of the distro i.e. Linux Lite 3.0 is now available for download. As expected, this release is based on Ubuntu 16.04 Xenial Xerus LTS release.

What’s new in Linux Lite 3.0?
New default wallpaper:
The operating system comes with the a new default wallpaper that shows the Linux Lite logo.

New Arc theme:
The popular Arc theme has been adopted by Linux Lite as it looks great and maintained regularly. It comes with three options: Arc, Arc-Dark, Arc-Darker.

Overhauled Lite Software:
by changing the look of Lite Software, the Select boxes are replaced by icons to help people recognize the software easily. New applications like Calibre, Audacity, and Pinta have been added on user requests.

Access folder from the Menu:
Folders can now be accessed from the Menu, making things more familiar for users making a switch from Windows.

Login Screen:
The new Login Screen has been made keyboard navigable and customizable.

Hardware Database Upload:
To maintain a list of the hardware configurations using Linux Lite, an option to upload Hardware Configuration/Lite Info has been added.
