「時代が終わった。『母の友』が休刊になる現代か」―。今年の３月号で７２年の歴史に幕を下ろした雑誌『母の友』。休刊を嘆く声、怒りの声…ＳＮＳで静かな話題を呼んだ。「正解を言わない」「問いをくれる」「読んで考えなさい」。編集者、書き手、読者からこぼれてくるものは、いわゆる育児雑誌のイメージとは異なる。タイパ・コスパ重視、すぐ答えを求めがちな現代で、消えゆく雑誌が最後まで問いかけたものが、そこにあった。
